“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13
Each Sunday morning grades 6th – 12th meet upstairs in the west room. We begin promptly
at 9 a.m. Bibles are provided in order that each student has the same translation. (NIV)
However, your student is welcome to bring any translation they feel comfortable with.
The class begins with Prayers, Praises and Concerns of the students. These are discussed
and then a student gives an opening prayer of the topics brought forth. Each class is a basic study of God’s Word and how it applies to our world today. The topic of discussion is determined on a week-by-week basis.
This time slot is designed as a classroom setting for all students regardless of Biblical Understanding. It is new information for novice students and a refresher for the veteran student. Students will learn how to study the Bible, Bible basics and life application of the selected studies.
This class immediately follows the previous session. However, this class adds 5 grade to
the mix. It is designed for 5th through 8th grades but High School aged kids are welcome to
help in a multitude of ways to include honing their teaching skills. This class is intended to be a bit more relaxed and fun for the kids. The students will still be learning Bible basics along with so much more. Activities may be role playing, games of all sorts, Bible study, Songs etc. This class will also focus a lot on fellowship with peers, and learning life skills. This time is also designed to prepare them spiritually and mentally for the Wednesday night High School class.
This time is reserved for grades 9 through 12. It is designed not only to dive deeper into
God’s Word but to help the student to navigate their path in life. Growing closer to God and
walking in the Spirit is a priority for the class. The students will learn how to recognize their
gifts and will be encouraged to use them as God intended. This class will have many opportunities to grow not only with Jesus but with each other. It is my belief that all students regardless of age and or maturity understand that following Jesus is a journey and adventure to be relished.
The activities for this age group could include any number of the following:
