The 2017 Teen Giving Tree is up in the foyer, gift tags are on the tree to take. Return the unwrapped item, $10-$15 range, and place in the totes.  These gifts go to children of the families who access the Parke County Food Pantry. They are our neighbors and friends, let’s help them have Merry Christmas this year.  

There will be a Holiday Pitch-in Breakfast Sunday, December 3 in Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited, just bring your favorite breakfast food and join the morning fun. The serving line will begin at 8:30 AM and end at 9:15 AM.  

Planning Ahead

There will be a meeting  Thursday, November 9, at 7:00 PM for anyone interested in helping with Wednesday Night Meals that will begin in January 2018. More details to come on the Wednesday night program/study.  

Love in Action

A planning and informational meeting is set for November 16, at 7:00 PM, in Fellowship Hall for anyone wishing to learn more about the Love In Action Ministry.  

Welcome Center

We are in need of a few additional helpers at the Welcome Center.  If you would like to serve in this way by helping with a month, part of a month, or as a substitute, please sign up at the Welcome Center.  

Community Event

  Trunk-or-Treat is this Tuesday, October 31, from 6 – 8 PM. This is a safe, fun Halloween alternative for children and their families.  

We are still in need of some more vehicles in the church parking lot and/or booths in the church building, with simple games for kids to play and receive their candy.  If you are willing to  be a “trunker”  sign up at the Welcome Center. Mentoring Matters

  TALKS Mentoring utilizes a curriculum that covers several issues such as respect, peer pressure, anger management, work ethic, and having a positive attitude.  Each week, students and their mentor spend about 30 minutes working on a lesson, than discuss the relevance of each topic to their own lives. Apples of Gold’s Fall Session will begin October 2. “Apples of Gold” is a ministry of older women sharing their faith and experiences of life with younger women.  If anyone is interested in learning more about this group or how to become a part of it, please contact the church office.  

2017 Fall Retreat

RCC Women’s Annual Fall Retreat will be September 21, at 6:00 PM.  The evening will begin with a salad and dessert buffet in Fellowship Hall. Followed by praise and music in the Worship Center.
