Calling All 5th – 8th Grade Students! AXIS Is Coming!

AXIS

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV)

AXIS…celebrating Jesus as the Center of our lives…the Center around which our lives revolve…celebrating our commitment to Him through worship & music. Students from 5th Grade to Jr. High are invited to share their love of Christ as we develop this new music team.

Our first meeting will be Sunday, October 25, right after second service (approx. noon).  This will be a short meeting to talk about the purpose and goals of AXIS as well as hand out practice CDs.  Parents are encouraged to stay for this meeting so we can set a rehearsal schedule that will work best for students and their parents.

If you have any questions or would like to participate but cannot attend the October 25 meeting, please contact Ronna Bemis ASAP.  Great things are ahead for this very special ministry team!  Join us!

Porters Seeking Ministry Partners

the-body-of-christ-open (1)RCC is truly obeying The Great Commission!  We want to once again thank all who have supported us in the past, and we are excited that RCC will send at least 18 people to make disciples in 2016.  With so many short term missionaries to fund this year, we are seeking ministry partnerships – just a few committed supporters giving monthly for 6 months will give us all we need to go.  We don’t want to take anything away from the Brazil trip’s fundraising efforts.  For more information and to sign up, please see the Missions Bulletin Board or visit journeyback.org.   THANK YOU!
Ben, Rachel, Anna & Ethan Porter.

Porters in Poland

IMG_0061God continues to call the Porters to service in Poland.  They are willing and ready, but they need your support to be able to return this June.  Join them for after 2nd service on April 6 for a special dinner, pictures, stories and more information about their family missionary work.  A free-will offering will be taken to help cover the cost of airfare.

You can read more about their work, contribute online or buy a handmade bracelet in support of their trip at journeyback.org.  Bracelets will also be available at the Welcome Center starting March 30.  Post a comment or e-mail Ben and Rachel with any questions!

Women’s Ministry

WomensBibleStudiesRCC Women’s Ministries strive to bring women of all ages together to mentor, fellowship and to provide support for each other.

Christian Women’s Fellowship
CWF is a senior women’s ministry.  Their ministry is to honor the Lord in service to the church, the community and to world missions.  Monthly meetings are the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 1:30 PM.  Activities include the support of the local food pantry, a card ministry, F.A.M.E., mission speakers, Appalachian Christian Ministry, and Samaritan’s Purse gift boxes.  Ladies of CWF  and Women of Service cooperate in preparation of bereavements dinners, assistance with baptisms, maintenance of the kitchen and monetary contributions as needed to the church body.

Women of Service
Our mission is to be of service to the church, to maintain outreach to members of the church, and to provide opportunity for Christian fellowship and personal growth in their faith.  Women of Service is Christ-centered and serves through the love of God. Currently, the ladies meet the second Saturday of each month for breakfast (unless another activity is planned).  Meetings are held at the church Fellowship Hall at 8:30 AM.  Activities of the group are baptismal duties, working with the Christian Women’s Fellowship on Bereavement Committee, sending care packages to college students, women’s day activities such as our Annual Women’s Retreat, assisting the church body wherever needed, the Christmas Giving Tree for children of Parke County and sponsoring a Day Mission Trip or two to F.A.M.E. headquarters in Indianapolis.  All women are invited to attend and become involved in this ministry.

Women of Purpose
Women of Purpose is a Bible study group that meets every Monday (during the school year) from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  Women of Purpose has been in existence for about 16 years.  Originally called “Mothering Matters,” the group was founded for young mothers to gather and get into God’s Word and to be a support for each other.  As our children grew, so did we.  Our group has changed from young mothers to women of all ages and several church backgrounds.  Our purpose is still the same – to study God’s Word and to provide support for each other.  Our group has definitely diversified and we invite all ladies to join us.
We have done numerous studies over the years from topical to studying specific books of the Bible.

Women’s Bible Study
Women of all ages gather on Monday evenings for a time of fellowship, prayer and study (and food!).  This Bible Study meets from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, generally at Janet Fahey’s home but occasionally at McVay Chiropractic offices.  Sandy Thurman and Tina Jacks lead the group through topic studies, books of the Bible and books by Christian authors.  Bring your Bible and a hunger for applying God’s Word and join us!

Women of Faith Conference
For the last several years, we have organized a group of women to attend the nearest Women of Faith Conference.  Registration information will be announced as it is available.  Visit the Women of Faith website for more information.
