SOMETHING NEW!

“Worship the Lord in Holiness; Dance before Him All the Earth.”  (1 Chronicles 16:29) Do you have child (girl or boy ages: 6 to 12) or a teen who would like to dance?  We are excited to be starting an Interpretive Worship Dance Team at RCC. Interpretive dance is choreographed dance movements interpreting the story of Christian music. No dance experience is required, and there is no cost. The only requirements are dedication and attending practice once a week (day to be determined) and being available the dates the dance team is scheduled to share this beautiful form of worship. If your child is interested in being part of the dance team, or you are not familiar with Interpretive Dance and would like more information, please contact the church office.

Christmas-Divider

Please join us for a special evening of worship as we celebrate the greatest Gift given for us!  Special music by Kids Praise, Axis, Soloists, Worship Band & Praise Team.  Following the service, we invite everyone to bring Christmas “sweets and treats” to share in a time of fun and fellowship!

Calling All 5th – 8th Grade Students! AXIS Is Coming!

AXIS

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV)

AXIS…celebrating Jesus as the Center of our lives…the Center around which our lives revolve…celebrating our commitment to Him through worship & music. Students from 5th Grade to Jr. High are invited to share their love of Christ as we develop this new music team.

Our first meeting will be Sunday, October 25, right after second service (approx. noon).  This will be a short meeting to talk about the purpose and goals of AXIS as well as hand out practice CDs.  Parents are encouraged to stay for this meeting so we can set a rehearsal schedule that will work best for students and their parents.

If you have any questions or would like to participate but cannot attend the October 25 meeting, please contact Ronna Bemis ASAP.  Great things are ahead for this very special ministry team!  Join us!

KIDS’ PRAISE TO SING FOR SERVICE

kids praise2Our Kids Praise team will be opening both worship services on Sunday, October 25.  Children are asked to be at church  by 8:30 a.m. for a quick sound check before services.  Songs they will be sharing with us are “Friend of God” and “A Gift to You.”

Kids Praise is for children ages 4 through 5th grade.  If you have a child interested in joining this group, please contact Ronna Bemis.

A Musical Comedy?

Star QueenTommy Oaks is an award-winning master storyteller.  And, does he have a story to tell us!  He and his son, John Thomas will be with us on November 16 to preach and lead worship Sunday morning and dramatically retell one of the great stories of the Old Testament that evening.

It’s the musical comedy Star Queen based on the story of Queen Esther which celebrates the victory of a young Jewish queen of Persia over an evil tyrant through cunning ingenuity.  How does a father/son team reenact and tell such a story?  Join us for our Harvest Blessing Dinner on November 16 to find out.

Worship

Worship_Image_520x300Worship is more than the music we sing on Sunday morning.  It’s being aware of God’s presence and giving Him glory in ALL that we do.  Worship can happen whenever and wherever we are!   The worship ministry of RCC exists, above all, to glorify God, worshiping Him in spirit and truth.

If you’d like to know more or get involved in any of these worship ministries, please contact Ronna Bemis.

Praise Team Vocalist & Musicians
Praise band & worship teams help prepare hearts for worship. Rehearsals vary according to members schedules.  Music styles blend traditional with  contemporary.

Special Music
Soloists, ensembles, duets and musicians are encouraged to be a part of our worship ministry.  New groups and ensembles are being developed.  Goals for the future include a children’s choir, teen/young adult ensemble, a women’s quartet or ensemble, a contemporary ensemble, and more!

Media Ministry
The goal of the Media Ministry is to help worshipers draw closer to God through what they see and hear.  Lighting, sound, video… the gift of technology can touch our senses and draw us into focus spiritually more than many people realize.  The video and audio technicians working behind the scenes are vitally important to the atmosphere of worship.  Commitment level varies.

Drama
Jesus often used parables to help people understand His messages more clearly.  Jesus’ parables used the familiar things of life to teach spiritual truth.  The use of drama is much the same for us today.  Dramas, whether monologues or short skits, can help draw out an important truth in the message presented from God’s Word.  If you have a “talent for the stage”, and would love to share that gift in ministry, please contact Pat or Ronna.
