Give Thanks

Harvest BlessingsOur annual Harvest Blessings Dinner will be held on Sunday, November 16 at the 4-H Community Building.  This year, we are doing things a little different.  The church will provide the main course (turkey and ham) and the rest of the meal will be potluck…which means we only get to eat what you bring, so bring a side dish and/or dessert to share.  Our meal will begin promptly at 5:30 PM.  RSVP on your Connection Card or by calling the church office (569-3563).

Discovery

DiscoveryGraphic

Wednesdays will be buzzing with activity at RCC as we open the church doors for an evening of Discovery.  You will have the opportunity to discover new friendships as we enjoy a family meal together.  The informal atmosphere will allow you to discover names, which child belongs to who, and the vibrant personality of our congregation.  Most importantly, we’ll discover Biblical insights to live by.

Dinner for the entire family will be served from 5:45 until 6:30 PM.  The cost will be $3 per person or a maximum of $12 per family.

Classes for all ages will begin at 6:45 PM.  For the adults, we will be using “The Resolution” as our study guide.  The book is an unapologetic call for men and women to live courageously for their faith.  Our study is designed challenge you to become the man/woman God created you to be.  It is a pursuit of the ironclad character God wants to develop in each of us.  Because of the content of the book, there will be a class for the men and a separate class for the women.  Books are available at the Welcome Center.

There will be classes and activities for all ages.  Following dinner, Jr/Sr High will meet in the Big House.  Our Elementary Youth will meet in the Worship Center for the opening session, then break up into small groups for discussion and lesson activities.  And, of course, a Nursery will be available for infants and toddlers.

Porter Poland Progress!

Thank you doesn’t begin to describe the gratitude for the dozens of people that contributed food, helped set up and clean up, but also to the 80+ people who attended and gave so generously.  We shared some slides of trips to Poland and talked about the work God is doing that we are so blessed to be part of.  In the end we raised $2806!  Just $194 short of the amount we still needed for our airfare, and that gap should be filled when I collect money from bracelet orders this week!  What a huge blessing that we can purchase our plan tickets.  I just confirmed that the price hasn’t started going up yet.  Poland… here we come!

We still have $2500 needed for ground transportation, lodging and ministry expenses.  Rumor has it that a couple of RCC Sunday School classes decided to support us this morning, which is not included in this total and should help move us toward that.  Again… thank you!  We’ll need to cover this amount by early May, so your financial support is still needed and appreciated. We’ll make big announcements when we reach the final goal, but you can also follow our progress on our FINANCIAL SUPPORT page.

We can’t begin to express our gratitude.  If you had any part in this … from prayer, to helping out, purchasing a bracelet or a donation of any amount – we thank you.  You are growing the Kingdom of God.

Porters in Poland

IMG_0061God continues to call the Porters to service in Poland.  They are willing and ready, but they need your support to be able to return this June.  Join them for after 2nd service on April 6 for a special dinner, pictures, stories and more information about their family missionary work.  A free-will offering will be taken to help cover the cost of airfare.

You can read more about their work, contribute online or buy a handmade bracelet in support of their trip at journeyback.org.  Bracelets will also be available at the Welcome Center starting March 30.  Post a comment or e-mail Ben and Rachel with any questions!
