A revised missions budget is available at the Welcome Center. The missions committee has regretfully had to make cuts to all of our supported missions based on our decreased giving.

Next Sunday, January 24, we are hosting a Soup & Salad Luncheon to raise funds for the two mission teams we as a congregation are sending out this May. Our homemade soups will be vegetable beef, chicken noodle and cheesy potato – along with salads and desserts. We will also have lunch items for kids. There is no charge, but freewill donations will be accepted.
The first seating for lunch will be immediately following Sunday School for those of you who attend first service. We will offer another seating after second service.

Operation Christmas Child is the largest Christmas project of its kind. It uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Click here to read about how and what to pack in your shoebox. National Collection Week is November 16-23. Packing Day will be Sunday November 22. Contact Ronna if you are able to help after church.

The Porters would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who attended the time of sharing about their mission work last Sunday, and to all those who are supporting in prayer and financial giving. They are now just $1700 short of being able to purchase airfare! To help close that gap, Mission Store items and a donation jar will still be available in the office hallway for the next two Sundays. In addition, Monica McMullen will give a fundraiser and fashion show with Premier Designs Jewelry on Sunday, March 29 after second service in the Friendship Classroom. Plan to join the fun and help finish meeting the financial need so we can send the Porters back to Poland!

After the most recent update from our awesome church secretary, the Porters are excited to say that they are getting close to their fund-raising goals! If you haven’t been keeping up, they were able to purchase their plane tickets after the fund-raising dinner hosted on April 6. That was a huge answer to prayer right there. Since then, they have saved, earned through bracelet sales and received gifts bringing them just $1220 away from being fully funded for this mission trip. Their remaining money is due to Polish Christian Ministries by May 15, which is just over two weeks away, so they still need some help. If you’d like to be part of what God is doing in Poland, please visit their financial support page to see how you can help them close the gap!
Thank you to all who have already given funds, prayers and encouragement.

Thank you doesn’t begin to describe the gratitude for the dozens of people that contributed food, helped set up and clean up, but also to the 80+ people who attended and gave so generously. We shared some slides of trips to Poland and talked about the work God is doing that we are so blessed to be part of. In the end we raised $2806! Just $194 short of the amount we still needed for our airfare, and that gap should be filled when I collect money from bracelet orders this week! What a huge blessing that we can purchase our plan tickets. I just confirmed that the price hasn’t started going up yet. Poland… here we come!
We still have $2500 needed for ground transportation, lodging and ministry expenses. Rumor has it that a couple of RCC Sunday School classes decided to support us this morning, which is not included in this total and should help move us toward that. Again… thank you! We’ll need to cover this amount by early May, so your financial support is still needed and appreciated. We’ll make big announcements when we reach the final goal, but you can also follow our progress on our FINANCIAL SUPPORT page.
We can’t begin to express our gratitude. If you had any part in this … from prayer, to helping out, purchasing a bracelet or a donation of any amount – we thank you. You are growing the Kingdom of God.

God continues to call the Porters to service in Poland. They are willing and ready, but they need your support to be able to return this June. Join them for after 2nd service on April 6 for a special dinner, pictures, stories and more information about their family missionary work. A free-will offering will be taken to help cover the cost of airfare.
You can read more about their work, contribute online or buy a handmade bracelet in support of their trip at journeyback.org. Bracelets will also be available at the Welcome Center starting March 30. Post a comment or e-mail Ben and Rachel with any questions!

The Missions Committee is dedicated to learning more about each of our supported missions, sharing this information with the congregation and using our mission dollars wisely. We are partners with those who are spreading the gospel and the love of Christ to people in Parke County, the state of Indiana, America and around the world. We are currently supporting 15 different mission fields. We help organize two Mission Sundays, one in the spring and one in the fall. We also hlep in putting together short-term mission trips and encourage participation by members of our church family.
